Does Lightyear really go to Infinity and Beyond?

Disney and PIXAR's latest film Lightyear is a great film about Buzz Lightyear and his crew trying to get off an abandoned planet. The film is supposed to be Andy (from the Toy Story films) favourite movie, that is what makes him wan't the Buzz Lightyear toy but this does not feel like a 1995 sci fi movie that a kid would watch over and over again.

Another criticism of this movie was the main thing that it said in all the trailers was too go to infinity and beyond but for all of this movie they stay on the same planet for all the film.
