Welcome back to Reload Reviews! Today we are reviewing Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, the pros, the cons and a lot of tragic and heartwarming easter eggs that bring this trilogy perfectly to as close, well maybe. I will say first there are a lot of spoilers in this post, so if you haven't seen the film, check it out before reading this.

I think this is Marvel again, not top 5 MCU films, it just has a more MCU feeling than Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness, Ant Man Quantumania, She-Hulk or Thor: Love and Thunder. In 2021 it felt a little different, but 2022 just drifted from what the MCU was.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 is a highlight album of the Guardians Trilogy. This is the most emotional MARVEL film and the first time I cried during an MCU film. Some of the scenes in Rocket's flashbacks are heartbreaking and Bradley Cooper really does a great job with Rocket Racoon. Some animal owners may fell quite triggered by some of the scenes here and I understand that.

One of the reasons of that was the High Evolutionary. He is the worst MARVEL villain and I hate him, in a good way. He is in my top three MCU villains. Speaking of villains, I loved Adam Warlock in the film. Although, he did get barely any screen time, and as the movie went on, I kind of forgot he was there. I am still excited to see Will Poulter as Adam in the future.

The Guardians themselves are probably the best team in the MCU, some of the ways they work together are amazing. We all know from Daredevil MARVEL delivers great hallway scenes. How James Gunn directed some of the shots was really fun.

In the end of the film, I was surprised none of the main Guardians members died. The way they were marketing the film made me think that this was one last ride. Drax was shot twice, on the ground, Mantis was crying and then he comes back the next scene?

Peter Quill freezing would have been of been a fitting end to the character, and although Adam gets a redemption ark, it just feels like no point. I think it should of ended with the Guardians helping Rocket defeat the High Evolutionary and they would go for one last ride in the forever sky, before the ship blows up killing them all.

A thing I was wondering in the marketing leading up to this film was how were they going to handle Peter and Gamora's relationship. I am happy with how they resolved it. Gamora going of with the Ravagers and Peter accepting that is a satisfying end, and I would not have liked it if they got back together.

Overall I would give it a 8.3/10.
