Today I watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem in the cinema, so here is now my review for the film. This review will contain massive spoiler for the film, so before reading, make sure to watch the film if you don't want to be spoiled.

The movie starts 15 years before the main climax of the film, as we see experiments being made on creatures being mutated. This is were we get all the film's villains and the Turtles's origin story, however, I would of preferred if all of these characters didn't have the same origin.

In other media a lot of these villains had really unique origin stories and compelling ones to the Turtles, only to be sidelined for most of this film, it is a shame with this big, packed cast that we don't get to see much of them and probably won't in future sequels to this franchise.

Another thing I didn't like about this film was Splinter. Making him a regular Rat who became mutated in the same circumstances as the Turtles instead of a rat owned by a Karate master, mutated in a different circumstance to the Turtles. I would rather Splinter teach them instead of learning from TV and Youtube Tutorials.

The Art Style of the film was truly fantastic, I thought it would be similar to the style of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but it felt more like a drawing somebody could sketch in a class, the designs of characters were never perfect or the same, but always changing.

Ice Cube is a casting I would have never thought of to play Super-Fly, he had brilliant and menacing intentions, and a backstory I can deal with. The plot is a very intriguing and I never felt bored watching it. It had a fast pace, but not too fast.

In the end, the Turtles get accepted in society and the other Mutants help to defeat, "Super-Duper Fly." This is another thing why I think that the other Mutants will be sidelined instead of being used as villains in other films. I hope they feature in the TV series and sequels.

Overall, Mutant Mayhem is a great film for any Turtle fan and a great introduction to TMNT franchise for casual fans. I give it a 8.5/10.
