Why does Groot grow so Big?

SPOILERS are in this post, so be warned! In GOTG☃️ and GOTG3 Groot is noticeably bigger in them than Avengers Infinity War, so why is this? In the comics we know Groot absorbs light to get bigger. Obviously the Guardians spend a lot of time in space, so between GOTG1 and GOTG2 Groot Jr. only grew a couple of legs.

In Volume 2 Peter unlocks his powers from celestial light, Celestial light can grow Groot quite quick. Once Groot is teenage Groot. He spends a lot of time in his dark room, playing games, so over 5 years between GOTG2 and Infinity War, he only grew a little bit.

In the Holiday special, Groot is very buff. I think this is to do with setting up base on Knowhere and spending a lot of time outside, and with the Guardians.

In the post credits for GOTG3 Groot is massive, at least 10 feet taller than he was in the film. In the post credits the new Guardians team includes Rocket, Groot, Kraglin, Cosmo, Adam Warlock and Phylla Vell.

Phylla Vell is a friend of Drax's daughter: Moondragon (I think Phylla is going to play a role of Drax's adopted daughter) and in the comics is the daughter of Captain Marvel. Not Brie Larson, the male Captain Marvel form Nova Corps.

She uses a bangle of some sort and uses it to absorb light, and shoot it out again. This is why Groot is 20ft tall, in such a short time. Captain Marvel 2 is set before GOTG3 so Phylla probably will show up later with Captain Marvel.
