Hello There, this is my ranking for all the Star Wars Films AND Tv Shows AND Shorts all ranked from worst to best. If you don't agree with some of my rankings, I will open a poll at the bottom of the post.
The Last Jedi
Although critically praised, the Last Jedi is a boring mess built from unresolved new plot lines and ruins old legacy characters like Luke Skywalker. Luke dying by using the force is dumb and Rose and Finn's relationship is never resolved in the next film and is unnecessary. The only highlight in my mind is the beautiful CG and real landscapes and worlds.
The Attack of the Clones
I think a lot of people can agree that Attack of the Clones is one of the most decent Star Wars projects, although not perfect, it still manages to set up its goal rather satisfyingly. I would have liked more variety in the story, setting and Jango Fett should have had more screen time due to his body being the base of the clones.
The Rise Of Skywalker
If this film was meant to be the final Skywalker Saga film, I disagree. Even the original draft sounded better. The last Skywalker saga film had no Skywalker (don't you dare say Rey Skywalker) and Luke should have stayed alive. Palpatine coming back was unexplained and the "I am all the Jedi." scene should have had more Jedi.
The Phantom Menace
Another one of the most decent Star Wars films is The Phantom Menace. Once again it has a goal and uses two hours to get to it. The pod racing scenes and flying scenes are highlights of the film and it delivers a believable Pre-Star Wars world. Anakin in slavery slows down the film and the politics scenes get really boring.
The Force Awakens
Starting to dive into the better side of Star Wars films, we have the Force Awakens. The sequels started off strong with this film. Kylo Ren is (started of as) a menacing villain bringing a new take to Star Wars. The settings are mesmerising and the soundtrack builds on that. Although the sequels did go down hill, it started good.
The New Hope
This film started off a great series of films in the best way possible. I give it lots of credit because without this, we wouldn't have Star Wars today. Although some of the plot seems a little planned out, like how they magically stumble across the Death Star, or how they find the rebels on Yavin 4, not knowing they were there seems like a trick to keep the plot working, but it still delivers a great world, characters and storytelling in under two hours.
The Return of the Jedi
Return of Jedi is the final film of the originals and is one of the best Star Wars films. The Emperor is one of the best Star Wars characters and Darth Vader still is in his glory. For the time they made it, the storytelling and the world building is unbelievable. Even introducing two of the most iconic characters in Star Wars, Boba Fett and Jabba the Hutt.
The Empire Strikes Back
If somebody asked me what does Star Wars do best, I wouldn't say the graphics or the planets, but I would say a cliffhanger. Whenever they use it it always is impactful, whether it was the Kenobi or this. Darth Vader shines again this film and it is always great to watch the Dagobah scene with Yoda. The ATATs are one of the most iconic Star Wars vehicles and some of the one liners in this film: Join me and we rule the Dark Side, I Love You, I Know and even I am your Father.
The Revenge of the Sith
I did say Lucasfilm and Star Wars did cliffhangers the best, and this film is all about that. Order 66, Darth Vader, unlike the other two prequels, this film has a goal and it uses so many other interesting plot points to get to it. The one liners as well: Hello There, I have the High Ground and so many more memes and quotes have come from this iconic film.
