From Spider-Man appearing in Invincible to a bunch of movies getting delays, here is everything in movie and TV this week!
You may of heard about the Barbie and Oppenheimer movie releasing on the same day, despite having completely different plots, people have been making trailers and parodies of a made up movie, "Barbieheimer." However, the movie Barbie has made $70,500,000 on its opening weekend and Oppenheimer, the arguably better movie has only made $33,000,000.
This week the trailer for Invincible Season 2 released, and with a great cast, it might be tackling the multiverse. It feels very Across the Spider-verse, as these multiversal beings are against Invincible. In the comics, Spider-Man teamed up with Invincible and with the new Amazon x Sony deal Spider-Man could show up.
A big event in Movie and TV this week is the writing and acting strike. Lots of movies have paused and even cancelled production. Films like Dune 2, Wonka and a bunch of other Warner projects are expected to release in 2024. The biggest delay is Aquaman 2. It was supposed to finish the DCEU but now, because of its extra filming to fix some things, it is supposed to release the same year the new DCU begins.
Another trailer released this week was The Marvels trailer, it kind of felt like an extend version of the April trailer. A big thing to point out is a Galactus tease with the main villain being apart of a group of cree soldiers who in the comics build an android version of the Silver Surfer.
