The Future of Daredevil: Why Born Again Being Scrapped is a Good Thing

We have just come out of an actors strike, and Daredevil: Born Again has already been scrapped because of lazy writing. However, I think this might of been a good thing. Today we will be focusing on what the original plot for the series would be, and how to fix it.

The original plot for the series would see Daredevil, a few years after the blip, retiring form the mantle of Daredevil after the murder of Foggy Nelson. This is very unfortunate as at the end of the Daredevil Netflix show, they started a new law firm together, and that will take the ending out of Netflix. It sort of feels like a lazy way to make the series more dark, to try to live up to the Netflix show.

Speaking of being dark, Episodes 1-4 would be more like a She-Hulk style law show, with probably no action scenes (something She-Hulk was missing) and speaking of She-Hulk, the Daredevil fight scenes were some of the best, if not the best, scenes in She-Hulk. If that wasn't enough, Daredevil wouldn't suit up until the penultimate episode, and the suit would be the awful mustard suit instead of the black one, fans do want.

It was announced that this series would be cut down to just six episodes instead the announced 18 episodes last year. This is just the definition of lazy writing. Marvel has fired all the writers and directors on this project and are working on a clean slate on Marvel shows. In my opinion, shows and movies in the MCU, should be treated as the same level of production as each other. No spin-off shows nobody needs, or rushed writing to get it out on time.

If I was head of production for this project, I would give the writers enough time to make detailed scripts and I wouldn't announce the release window until when it is actually complete. Shows like Loki and What If? Which had multiple seasons planned over one ark, are some of the best TV shows and I hope Marvel can live up to the Netflix show.
